Over 200 women have banded together to sue Chaz Dean, the founder of WEN hair care, claiming his sulfate-free 5-in-1 shampoo causes hair loss.

These woman from across 40 states have all had the same issues with Dean’s hair care line and now vow to take a stand against it. They’re suing both he and the man responsible for his infomercials, Guthy-Renker.

Daily Beast reports among the claims the women have about WEN are it causes such significant hair loss that bald spots emerge, irritation and rashes on the scalp and hair breakage. The women claim they’ve been forced to spend large amounts of money on covering up the damage, such as taking hair growth supplements and buying hair extensions.

WEN hair care products have received 5-star reviews on sites like Amazon, but a basic search will pull up similar complaints to the women in the lawsuit.

The attorney representing these women, Amy Davis, said they have hired a chemist to see what’s causing the hair loss.

Back in April after only a handful of women launched a lawsuit against Dean and Guthy-Renker, they responded in a statement, “We take great pride in the quality of WEN and take the appropriate steps to ensure every WEN product we sell meets our high standards. We want all our customers to have positive experiences with our products, and we encourage any customer with a question to contact us."
