The casting announcements for The Disaster Artist just won't stop coming, and the movie has just signed on a Community alum.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alison Brie is in negotiations to star in James Franco's new film about the behind the scenes of The Room, considered to be one of the worst movies of all time. She'll be playing the girlfriend of Greg Sestero, who is played by Brie's real life fiancee Dave Franco.
Brie is known primarily for her roles as Annie Edison on Community and Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, but she has had plenty of film experience as well in movies like The Five Year Engagement, Get Hard, Sleeping with Other People and The Lego Movie. She stars alongside Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson in How to be Single, which hits theaters in February.
Based on the Greg Sestero book of the same name, The Disaster Artist tells the story of eccentric director Tommy Wiseau and his 2003 cult hit The Room. James Franco will direct and star as Wiseau and he's joined by Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Zac Efron, Josh Hutcherson, Kate Upton, Jacki Weaver and Hannibal Buress.
