After the success of shows like The Walking Dead and its spinoff, AMC is ordering another horror series.

According to Deadline, AMC is developing an adaptation of the bestselling horror novel NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. The book centers around Victoria McQueen, who has a gift for finding things. When her son is kidnapped by the psychopathic Charlie Manx, who abducts children and steals their souls to stay young, Vic goes on a journey to save her boy.

The book was released in 2013 and was met with extremely favorable reviews. Previous Hill novels have been adapted on screen recently like Horns, which became a horror fantasy film with Danielle Radcliffe. Another one of his books, Heart Shaped Boxed, is currently being adapted into a film from Warner Bros.

It remains to be seen if NOS4A2 can recapture the same success of The Walking Dead, but that is what AMC is hoping for. After the end of Breaking Bad and Mad Men, the network has been on the hunt for their next big show. They're also working on a third zombie series, Empire of the Dead from George A. Romero, so they seem to be increasingly interested in the horror genre lately.
