Director Adam McKay is playing around with the idea of another Anchorman movie and he has just provided some information about the potential plot.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies, the Big Short director said that a potential third Anchorman film could be about the Internet or the Iraq war.

"We talked about doing one that was about the rise of the new media," he said. "I also thought there was something to the idea — and who knows, maybe we will do one some day — I also thought it’d be cool to have Ron Burgundy get embedded in the Iraq War."

He did note, however, that Ron Burgundy would be pretty old by that point, so they would have to make it in 10 or so years when Will Ferrell has aged a bit.

McKay had previously ruled out another Anchorman flick, saying in 2014 that The Legend Continues was the last one. But just like there was a nine-year gap between the first two films, it sounds like McKay is open to revisiting the story at some point down the line.
