Even though quarterback Andrew Luck practiced for the first time since early November, the Indianapolis Colts said today that he is still not ready to play.
Luck was back on the practice field for the first time since Nov. 6, reports The Indianapolis Star. However, head coach Chuck Pagano insisted that Luck will still not play Sunday against the division rival Houston Texans.
According to NFL.com, Pagano said that Luck only did individual work and is not cleared to run 11-on-11 drills.
Luck suffered a lacerated kidney and partially tore an abdominal muscle during the Colts’ 27-24 win over the Denver Broncos.
Sunday’s game against the Texans could make or break the season for the Colts, since they are both 6-7. They are tied atop the AFC South after both lost on Sunday, with the Colts getting blown-out by the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Texans meeting the same fate against the NEw England Patriots.
During the Jaguars game, backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was hurt and his left arm was still in a sling on Wednesday.
