In this week’s The Big Bang Theory, the gang manages to get pre-sale tickets to the new Star Wars movie.
To prepare, Sheldon takes off on Thursday to watch the original Star Wars series and then go to see the new movie. Penny points out that it is Amy’s birthday that day and he shouldn’t ditch her.
While Sheldon is sleeping, Arthur (Bob Newhart) visits him in his dream wearing Jedi robes. Arthur tells Sheldon that he should be with Amy on her birthday since he can see Star Wars anytime. Sheldon decides that he is right. He calls Amy in the middle of the night and tells her that he will be seeing her on her birthday.
Sheldon decides to go see Penny and Bernadette for help with Amy’s gift. Sheldon starts by giving them a list of his ideas. After the first two bad ideas, Sheldon reveals that his third idea is to have coitus with her. This prompts Penny to break her glass in shock. Penny asks Sheldon if he is ready for intimacy. Sheldon says that it is something he has struggled with in the past, but he feels he is ready to show Amy how much she means to him. He then says it is settled, his genitals will be Amy’s birthday present.
Penny and Bernadette take Amy out for her birthday a day early. When discussing where to go, Bernadette and Penny suggest a bikini wax or a dirty movie. Amy gets suspicious, which leads to Penny confessing what Sheldon is planning. Amy is shocked and realizes that she needs a bikini wax. She runs down the steps in excitement.
Arthur shows up to Sheldon in his sleep again. He asks him for help, feeling he might get overwhelmed and ruin everything. Arthur assures him that if he is with the right person, everything will be okay.
Sheldon shows up at Amy’s, who has the lights dimmed and candles lit. Amy tells Sheldon that she knows what his gift is. Sheldon asks her if that is okay. Amy answers by kissing him. In true Sheldon fashion, he tells her he needs verbal consent.
The two of them get into bed. Sheldon notices Amy is shaking, so he asks her why. She confesses that she is really nervous and doesn’t know what to expect. Sheldon tells her that he doesn’t know what to expect either, but they can find out together.
After the coitus, Sheldon admits he enjoyed it more than he expected. Amy, who is all disheveled, agrees. Sheldon says he can’t wait until her next birthday, when they will do it again. Amy smiles and says that works for her.
Meanwhile, the guys go to the movie without Sheldon. They invite Wil Wheaton, which turns out to be a bad idea when he shows up in Star Trek attire and gets booed.
Like Amy and Sheldon, the guys are having the same nervous feelings not knowing what to expect of the movie. In a similar way, Wil enjoyed the movie more than he thought he would and the guys end up feeling satisfied.
Arthur shows up in Sheldon’s dream one more time to hear about how it went. Sheldon thought he was talking about the movie so he answered that he saw it a few days later, but it was amazing. He then asked how it went with Amy. He responds, “Okay, but she doesn’t have the same experience with the franchise.”
