Defensive end Clay Matthews and quarterback Carson Palmer each played for the USC Trojans, but since entering the NFL they have always played on different teams and don’t appear to be buddies.
Sharing the same alma mater doesn’t make you friends and Matthews proved that Sunday night during the Green Bay Packers game against the Arizona Cardinals when he faked out Palmer.
Bleacher Report noted that after knocking the Arizona QB to the ground, Matthews extended his hand to help Palmer up. The clip shows Palmer then reaching for his hand and the linebacker pulls it away. Ouch!
In the end, it was Palmer though who had the last laugh when he got up himself and completed a touchdown pass to John Brown on the next play as the Cardinals went on to crush the Packers 38-8.
