Clip from 2006 Mrs World pageant proves Alan Thicke crowned wrong winner before Steve Harvey

A new clip has resurfaced from 2006, showing Alan Thicke making the same unfortunate mistake Steve Harvey made at the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday.

Thicke crowned the wrong winner Mrs World while hosting the pageant in St. Petersburg, Russia, giving Mrs Costa Rica the crown instead of the real winner, Mrs Russia.

Luckily for Thicke, social media wasn’t as big of a phenomenon as it has become today so it didn’t get the same viral response as Harvey’s mishap.

Back then, there was a lot more drama that aired. A producer is seen frantically yelling from the back of the stage as Mrs Costa Rica’s fellow beauty queens surround her in celebration, "MRS. RUSSIA WON, NOT MRS. COSTA RICA! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE????"
