Daisy Ridley and John Boyega have gone from relative unknowns to two of the biggest actors in the world, and it's been a pretty overwhelming experience for them.

In an appearance on Good Morning America, the two Star Wars leads revealed that they recently got to watch the final cut of The Force Awakens, and Ridley said that she cried on her way back from the screening. She noted that it's the first time she's ever really seen herself do anything, as this is actually the only movie she's ever been in.

Though Boyega has had more film experience, he has still never done anything this huge before, and so he agreed that the past few months have been crazy.

"Did you see yourself in Times Square," he asked his costar. "I saw myself in Times Square. It's so weird. It's so strange."

Ridley also discussed how great it is that the story largely centers on a strong female character, and in fact many of the film's promotional materials have focused on Rey. The actor compared this to how Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games has been extremely progressive.

"It's really exciting," she said. "If I had a little sister, I would be so pleased for her to see the film."

Boyega described the movie as a great balance between the old and new generation, adding that it's full of action, passion and emotion.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18.
