Damon Wayans Jr. will be the latest star to make an appearance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s third season. The former New Girl star will appear in at least one episode.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Wayans will star as Stevie, who was Jake’s (Andy Samberg) partner during his days as a beat cop. Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) will probably see Stevie’s return as a bad thing, since it could hurt his friendship with Jake.

Wayans was last seen on Fox in New Girl, but left the show a second time after its fourth season. (He had starred in the show’s pilot, but left to star in Happy Endings before returning in 2013.) Wayans stars in the upcoming comedy How To Be Single, which opens in February.

Other guest stars on this season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine include Nick Offerman, Archie Panjabi, Bill Hader and Mary-Lynn Rajskub.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl return on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
