Dove chocolate lovers and those with food allergies especially, should note that a popular stocking stuffer has been taken off the shelves in several states because some ingredients used may not be safe for people with such allergies.
Delish reported that on Friday, Mars Chocolate North America voluntarily recalled all 24.0 oz. bags of DOVE® Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes.
The reason for the massive recall is that the treats may be mixed with Snickers, Milky Way or Twix pieces, which contain peanuts, wheat and egg. Some 80,000 bags were removed from store shelves.
The 35 states where the product was sold are as follows: AZ, GA, MA, MS, OH, VA, CA, IA, MD, NH, OK, VT, CO, IL, ME, NJ, OR, WA, CT, IN, MI, NM, PA, WI, DE, KS, MN, NV, RI, WY, FL, KY, MO, NY and TX.
