Dustin Diamond, best known for his role as Screech on Saved By The Bell, will begin his jail sentence next month after his Christmas Day bar fight stemming from last year.

As we previously reported, Diamond was sentenced to four months in jail in June after being convicted on two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon following a three-day trial. At the time, he was found not guilty of the felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety.

According to People, Diamond was supposed to begin his sentence over the summer but the judge delayed it pending the actor's appeal. However, Diamond withdrew his appeal on Wednesday in a Ozaukee County, Wisconsin courtroom and it was determined he would begin his jail sentence on Jan. 15, with work release.

During his sentencing, Diamond called the day he stabbed a man in a Washington, Wisconsin bar, in what he says was to defend his girlfriend, the “most terrifying experience” of his life.
