Farrah Abraham has announced plans to adopt a child, which will be her second child following the birth of her daughter, Sophia, six years ago.
Abraham has been raising her daughter alone since Sophia’s father, Derek Underwood, died in a car accident right before their she was born.
She confirmed her adoption plans to Us Weekly, saying, “I’m happy to confirm I'm moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family. Very excited, and this feels so right. I'm very blessed for this opportunity.”
The Teen Mom OG star, 24, also spoke to OK! Magazine about welcoming a brother or sister for Sophia.
“Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well,” she said. “She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them.”
Abraham is currently in a feud with her MTV co-stars Maci, Amber and Catelynn. She recently called them “trash” and “pathetic parents” after a video surfaced of the girls calling Abraham a “hoe bag.”
