HBO aired a promotional video showing off its new and returning programs for next year following the season finale of The Leftovers. While it included several first looks of over exciting shows, the best part was a few shots of Game of Thrones season six.
This is the first time we’ve seen any footage from the upcoming season. Last week’s 40-second teaser included nothing beyond old scenes of characters dying (or losing a hand). There was also a poster released late last month that showed a bloodied Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
The first half of HBO’s promo features scenes from their 2015 shows before they segue into the new year’s offerings. For Game of Thrones, there are just three shots.
In the first shot, we see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) looking really concerned. Next, Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) is shown on a horse with a banner being carried behind him. In the last shot, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) hugs her son, Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman).
The rest of the HBO video features the first footage from Sarah Jessica Parker’s Divorce and scenes from the new seasons of Girls, Veep and Togetherness.
