The Duggar family returns to television this weekend for the first time since the scandals surrounding Josh Duggar broke. The other children of 19 Kids and Counting will be speaking out about the effects of the scandal.
Segments that will be featured in Jill & Jessa: Counting On were released on Friday. In a clip posted by People Magazine, John-David, 25, and Joseph, 20, speak out. They said that after they heard the news, they no longer wanted to be like him. John-David said that the news that Josh cheated on his wife was a shocker, even after news broke that he molested Jill and Jessa as a teen.
“After everything started to settle down from the first release of stuff in the news about Josh, we got word of a second thing that we had no clue about,” John-David said. “That was a little more of a shock probably than the first stuff coming out.”
Extra also posted a clip, which features an interview with Jinger, 21, who breaks down in tears while discussing the second scandal.
“I think that when we heard all his stuff, it was so unreal. We still have trouble comprehending it today,” Jinger said. “Just the reality of this person we thought we knew. This person that we love greatly, we still love, but just the hard pain that it’s caused...”
Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, is also included in the special. ““I was just like, ‘I’m gonna wake up and this is going to be okay...And this really. This can’t be true,’” she said in a clip that aired on Good Morning America.
Jill & Jessa: Counting On starts on TLC Sunday. Two more parts will air on Dec. 20 and Dec. 27.
