This Christmas will be an especially emotional one for Kathy Lee Gifford and her family as they will be spending their first Christmas without Frank Gifford.
The Today Show co-host took to Twitter several times this week and said that she is praying for everyone who is “brokenhearted” and lost a loved one.
“You, LORD, are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit,” she wrote. “Ps 34:18. I'm praying for all of you who need His love.”
Prior to that tweet, she posted some inspirational bible quotes about being "strong and courageous."
As we previously reported, Frank Gifford passed away last August of natural causes at the age of 84. The family released a statement last month revealing that the former NFL running back had suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is a brain disorder related to repeated head trauma.
“While Frank passed away from natural causes this past August at the age of 84, our suspicions that he was suffering from the debilitating effects of head trauma were confirmed when a team of pathologists recently diagnosed his condition,” the statement read.
Kathie Lee and Frank were married for nearly 30 years.
