One of Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s sons, 15-year-old Rocco Ritchie, is refusing to return to New York to be with his mother. Instead, he wants to stay in London with his father.
Madonna and Ritchie also have an adopted son, David Banda, 10. They split in 2008. She also has two daughters; Lourdes Leon, 19, and Mercy James, 9.
According to New York Daily News, Madonna was in court on Wednesday, where Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan ordered Rocco return home to his mother against his wishes.
A lawyer for Ritchie, Eric Buckley, told the judge of Rocco, “He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York.”
Madonna was in court with her lawyer, Eleanor Alter. Kaplan told her, “I’m granting you all the relief you have requested. I’m directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother.”
Page Six reports Kaplan also said Rocco would be appointed his own attorney to resolve the matter, but he must return to New York first.
Kaplan ordered Madonna and Ritchie not to discuss the case in front of their son.
