As any football fan knows referees do sometimes make mistakes that can affect the outcome of a game. Errors are going to happen, but with all the technology we have today these mistakes become magnified and there are far too many of them. So after another week of referee gaffes the NFL has demoted one crew.

Pro Football Talk reported that the league yanked the officiating crew led by Pete Morelli, from the upcoming Monday Night Football game and instead put them on the 4:25 p.m. Sunday game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots.

As USA Today noted the latest blunder to get this crew demoted occurred in last Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers. The crew of refs had a questionable roughing the passer call, completely missed a delay of game penalty and at one point didn’t even know how many downs there were.

Those major mistakes had both teams criticizing the crew after the game.

We’ll have to wait and see if these officials get things together this week.
