New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was clearly frustrated with Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman during the entire game on Sunday and will likely be suspended for a completely uncalled for helmet-to-helmet shot at Norman after a play.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the NFL is talking about disciplining Beckham, but he will probably only get a one-game suspension.

The helmet-to-helmet shot on Norman came after a play was already over and it was clear that Beckham was targeting him. Both of them were frequently shoving each other during the game and received unnecessary roughness penalties. Beckham was called for unnecessary roughness twice and Norman thought that Beckham should have been ejected from the game.

“What he did is on display,” Norman said after the game, reports USA Today. “You see what kind of player he is and you pull back the layers of skin and you really see what it is. Film don’t lie.”

Beckham blamed the helmet-to-helmet shot on the competitive spirit. “We are out there playing football, we are competing. You are a competitor,” he said.

The Giants came back to tie the game against the Panthers, but lost 38-35 because of a last-second field goal. Carolina moved up to 14-0, while the Giants dropped to 6-8 and need some big help to make it to the playoffs at this point.
