Since Paul McCartney spends a lot of time in New York City these days, you can never guess when he will pop up on Saturday Night Live. He made an appearance during the final episode of the year with Bruce Springsteen.
Just as Springsteen started “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” at the end of the episode, McCartney walked on stage to join him. There was no hint that McCartney was going to be there, although Rolling Stone notes that Springsteen did tease a “surprise” on Twitter.
After the show, Springsteen’s team tweeted a picture of The Boss with McCartney.
Saturday’s SNL was hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who were promoting their film Sisters. As for Springsteen and the E Street Band, they were getting prepared for their 2016 The River tour.
