Rachel Nichols used to work for ESPN but has continued to be successful since they parted ways. Now the much anticipated reunion is finally happening.

According to Variety, the former ESPN anchor is returning to the network to host her own program and anchor as well. Nichols started her career at ESPN in 2004 but left in 2013 and joined CNN. She was an anchor for Sports Center, NFL Countdown, and E:60.

According to Sports Illustrated Nichols is expected to start working with ESPN again in early 2016. During her time at CNN, Nichols had her own talk show called Unguarded but it was canceled within a year due to CNN budget cuts.

Nichols covered mostly sports at CNN, including the Summer Olympics and the Super Bowl. She also covered the MLB and NBA on TNT.

ESPN recently had to cut 300 employees due to budget cuts so a friendly face in Nichols will certainly boost morale and hopefully the ratings.
