After less than a year of dating, professional golfer Rory McIlroy is engaged to his girlfriend Erica Stoll.
Stoll showed off her diamond ring in Belfast, Ireland on Thursday, where the couple attended the Paddy Wallace Fund event.
According to Us Weekly, McIlroy only went public with Stoll in June. A month prior, he told the Times of London, "I am very happy in my love life,” adding, “We haven't really been putting it out there.”
McIlroy broke off his engagement to Caroline Wozniacki last year after they got so far into the wedding planning process that wedding invitations had gone out.
At the time, he said in a statement that he wasn’t ready for marriage. “The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails,” he said at the time, but it appears he’s had a change of heart.
There's speculation the engagement took place while the couple was in Paris last week.
