It’s been long-rumored that Sandra Bullock became a mom for the second time when she adopted a sister for her 5-year-old son, Louis, and she’s now confirming the adoption in a cover story for People.
Bullock and her son have welcomed 3½-year-old Laila into their family, who was previously living in foster care in Louisiana.
“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” she told People. “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”
Bullock’s boyfriend, photographer Bryan Randall, took the photos of the new family of three for the cover story.
“My family is blended and diverse, nutty, and loving and understanding. That’s a family,” she said.
News about Bullock’s second adoption surfaced in October, but due to the anonymity that goes along with the process, the actress couldn’t go public with it for a while.
Louis, who she adopted in 2010, “spearheaded” the adoption. “I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren’t going anywhere,” Bullock said about the long process of adoption.
She also gushed of Laila (pronounced Lila) she’s brought “pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans.”
