A new teaser for Sherlock: The Abominable Bride arrived this weekend, showing that Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson aren’t going back to the 1800s for a vacation.
The new installment in the series has Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman going back to the roots of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. The case they are on features a ghoulish bride pretending to be dead and there’s people the famous detective has promised to protect.
The Abominable Bride will air on Jan. 1 in the U.K. on BBC One and on PBS in the U.S. It will also be screened in some theaters around the world. The 90-minute episode was directed by Douglas Mackinnon (Doctor Who) and was written by Sherlock creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.
