Former Jackass star Steve-O was in and out of jail this week as part of his sentence for climbing a crane during a SeaWorld protest.
Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, was arrested back in August when he took part in a protest of the theme park in Los Angeles. He even correctly predicted that he would end up being arrested for his crane-climbing stunt.
In October, Steve-O was sentenced to 30 days in jail; a $14,000 fine to pay to the police and fire departments and three years probation.
On Wednesday, he posted a video on Instagram, showing him arriving to jail and then doing a flip over the sign. “Here I am at jail. See ya when I see ya, folks! #yeahdude #SeaWorldSucks,” he wrote in the caption.
Just eight hours and one “hilarious mug shot” later, he was released from jail. When he got home, he posted a picture with his dog, writing, “Thanks to all of the good people at Twin Towers Correctional Facility for making my stay a great one. #yeahdude #SeaWorldSucks.”
When he was sentenced, Steve-O made it clear that he thought it was all worth it in an effort to raise awareness of the orcas living in captivity at SeaWorld parks.
“Considering I’ve become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I’m ready to go to jail– not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it’s nice to let people know I haven’t lost my edge,” he wrote on Instagram in October. “What can I say, I’m a jackass.”
