Rethinking Last Week’s Vote…
Following Joe’s demise at last week’s tribal council, the remaining players returned to camp ecstatic they had finally eliminated the biggest threat in the game. As Wentworth put it, they now had an “equal shot at winning challenges.”
Keith had clearly been left out of the loop because he had voted for Tasha. However, he wasn’t too upset about it, since it benefits him to have Joe out of the game. Yet, he was worried about doing damage control with Tasha.
As for Spencer and Jeremy, they took a long walk and discussed the fact that they could be in trouble since they don’t have a solid alliance of four people. They also began to regret not keeping Joe and potentially opening the door for the ladies to team up in an all-girls alliance. Seriously though? You couldn’t have come to this conclusion last week when Joe warned you?
A Once-In-A-Lifetime Reward…
The reward challenge was a throwback to one from Season 29’s Blood vs. Water which Keith had won. He repeated that feat again, winning the chance to visit some Cambodian temples, be blessed by the monks there, eat a meal, and sleep the night. He chose Wentworth and Spencer to go with him, but when Jeff Probst asked him why those two, Keith rambled incoherently for some time. Apparently he wanted to return the favor to Wentworth for picking him for last week’s reward. He also wanted to give this opportunity to Spencer because he wasn’t chosen to partake in that same reward.
Keith, Wentworth, and Spencer made a final three pact on their excursion and discussed possibly blindsiding Tasha next with Abi’s help. Meanwhile back at camp, Kimmi, Tasha, Jeremy, and Abi realized that Keith has been underestimated and could go on a winning streak like Joe. Clearly, that had to be stopped, and once again, Abi’s help was needed. Jeremy was a little hesitant to agree to it though, fearful this was part of the all-girls’ alliance ultimate plan.
Instead of playing the role as the swing vote to her advantage, Abi of course allowed her emotions to get the best of her. Her volatile ways have earned her a place amongst the top Survivor villains, and according to her, villains have more fun. But it hasn’t been fun putting up with her all this time. Frustrated by having to tiptoe around Abi’s feelings, Tasha finally decided she’d had enough. Provided that Spencer would stay true to the final three deal he made with Tasha and Jeremy last week, with Kimmi’s help, they’d have no problem sending Abi packing.
A Scary Incident During The Immunity Challenge…
The immunity challenge seemed straightforward: maneuver through the obstacle course set up in the ocean, unclip a key from a buoy, head back to shore, and solve a five-piece puzzle. You could see that the players were giving it their all, fighting through the pain. Tasha especially struggled in the water. When Spencer beat out Jeremy for the win, Probst saw her floundering still, so he called for the Safety and Medical teams to bail her out of trouble. She had swallowed a bunch of water and was having trouble breathing, but aside from that, she was perfectly OK.
The Scramble Back At Camp…
After weeks of ever-changing voting blocks, the rise of two opposing alliances this week created plenty of paranoia. Spencer found himself in the middle of both teams and was forced to side with one or the other. After participating in powwows with both sides, he still had no idea how he was going to decide between siding with the “big guns” (Jeremy, Tasha, and Kimmi) or the “weaker players” (Abi, Wentworth, and Keith).
Another Blindside At Tribal Council…
“We” was the theme of tonight’s tribal council, as the contestants talked about finally drawing some lines in the sand. Keith went so far as to say that he believed his “we” would succeed, leaving everyone chuckling and Spencer shaking his head.
Of course most of the votes went towards Abi and Tasha, with Abi ultimately being sent to the jury. Surprisingly, she went quietly, but did mention in her confessional that she was “happy not to be with those crazy people anymore.”
Seriously? Are you the pot or the kettle, dear?
Anyhow, at least with this vote, the contestants sent a message that they would battle it out with the strongest players instead of taking someone like Abi to the end for an easy win.
Sadly, with next week’s season finale, this exciting and dynamic season is almost at an end. Who do you think will make it to the finals?
