Actress and wife of Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, shared some very good news at an event on Wednesday morning.
People noted that while attending The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Breakfast she announced that she is rid of her breast cancer.
"I am cancer free. I'm one hundred percent healthy!” Wilson revealed.
As we reported, the 59-year-old was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma last March, which she is said to have caught early, and underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Wilson said that she was initially told by doctors that tests showed she did not have cancer, however, cancer was in fact detected after she got a second opinion.
At that time of her diagnosis, Wilson was co-starring in the Broadway play Fish in the Dark, with Larry David. She took a break to have the surgery and by May had returned to her role.
Wilson is now preparing to go on tour with her band and will be hitting Los Angeles and New York as well as other big cities across the country.
