You probably heard the news about Tom Holland being the new Spider-Man on the Internet. It turns out that's how the actor found out, too.
In an interview on Sways Universe, Holland revealed that he discovered he got the part of Spider-Man basically the same way Marvel fans did.
"I was actually having a really bad day, and I found out on Instagram," he said. "I was in my bed, I was scrolling through Instagram, and Marvel had posted a photo of Spider-Man. It said 'Go to our website, and find out who it is.'"
The photo he's referring to was posted to Marvel's official Instagram account back in June. You might think Marvel or perhaps Holland's agent would contact the young actor first, but getting the biggest news of your life through a vague Instagram post must have been an interesting experience to say the least.
Holland will make his debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, although it sounds like he is not a major part of the movie. In fact, the actor noted he has no idea what happens in the film because he only read the few scenes he was in.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
