Even though he's in the movie, Tom Holland is as clueless about the plot of Captain America: Civil War as the rest of us.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Spider-Man actor said he knows virtually nothing about the new Marvel film other than what happens in his scenes.
“I was only working on it for a week or two weeks or something," he explained. "So they offered for me to read the script, and I said ‘No, I don’t want to read it, because I’ll be doing all these interviews and I’ll end up telling secrets and stuff. I’ve got such a big mouth.’ So I actually don’t know what it’s about."
Holland noted that he'll be watching the movie as an audience member, all the while trying to piece together where his bits fit in.
This likely means that Spider-Man's role in Civil War isn't too significant. Holland was apparently in the movie for too short of a time to know much about the plot and only shot for an equally short time so it will still be exciting to see him, but fans probably should expect the character to be in a few scenes at most.
In terms of what his take on Spider-Man will be like, Holland didn't want to give away many details, but he did tell Variety that there will be elements of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions that he's going to borrow from.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
