Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios confirmed that it has signed a distribution deal with Universal Pictures, bringing Spielberg back to the studio where he made his name. The first film to be released under the deal will be next year’s The Girl on the Train.

DreamWorks announced today that it has combined forces with Participant Media and Entertainment One (eOne) to create Amblin Partners. The new company will be led by CEO Michael Wright and COO Jeff Small.

In addition, the new company has signed a distribution deal with Universal Pictures, notes The Los Angeles Times. Univeral will be responsible for marketing and distributing Amblin productions.

The first project on the docket will by The Girl on the Train, a film adaptation of the Paula Hawkins novel. Tate Taylor (The Help) is directing. The cast includes Emily Blunt, Luke Evans, Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Edgar Ramirez, Allison Janney and Lisa Kudrow. Marc Platt is producing.

The Girl on the Train is scheduled for Oct. 7, 2016.

There are still more DreamWorks films that Disney will release, including Spielberg’s The BFG. Under the Disney deal, DreamWorks produced the hits The Help, Lincoln and Bridge of Spies.
