A 14-year-old aspiring singer named Molly O'Malia held a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred by her side on Monday, claiming rapper Tyga made her feel uncomfortable by reaching out to her on social media and asking for her number.
After a story ran by OK! Magazine last month claimed O’Malia came between Tyga and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, she wanted to set the record straight publicly.
"The truth is that Tyga contacted me first. He direct messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was but I was surprised that he was contacting me," O’Malia said.
She also said she felt “uncomfortable” that he asked her to FaceTime three times. “Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me I quickly stopped responding to him,” she added.
Tyga’s manager, Anthony Martini, admitted to TMZ that the rapper did reach out to O’Malia, but he claims it was to inquire about working together on his Last Kings Records label. He also claims the reason he asked O’Malia to FaceTime was to ask her to sing while he was in the studio with producers.
O'Malia said she spoke out at the press conference "because I don't want what happened to me to happen to any other young girl."
In text messages TMZ obtained, O’Malia told Tyga she was 17.
