3:12 pm. On a Tuesday. Philadelphia, PA

Tonight’s episode has the gang focus on trying to decide what true art is. Mac thinks that anything can be considered art. He wants to convince someone that one of Charlie’s doodles could be considered art. Dennis thinks that his erotic memoirs could be made into an artistic film. Dee thought she was improving her acting career but finds out she was appearing in a Cinemax skin flick alongside Richard Grieco. This can only bring interesting results.

Mac takes Frank and Charlie, who has adopted a ‘Grieco’ artist persona to an art gallery to take in some art. They try to sneak in Charlie’s art, which the art director quickly throws away. She tells them that context helps the art tell a story. A particular World War II painting becomes Frank’s obsession, while Mac is still very confused.

Dennis wants to make his own version of 50 Shades of Grey and he takes his idea to the Philadelphia Film Society. He lies and tells the woman that his sister wrote his memoir in order to gain her support. He goes to tell Dee his plan, who is trying to edit her acting roles. Dee jumps on board with the plan.

‘Grieco’ Charlie is searching for inspiration and Mac brings in an old acquaintance…Rickety Cricket to use as inspiration. Cricket has had a rough life and wants to use him for something deeply astounding. Mac wants Charlie to keep searching while he wants Frank to subtly get the owner of the art gallery.

This part of the episode is truly hilarious. Frank disguises himself as an art collector. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen Frank do. He becomes fixated on the same World War II art piece and is able to influence the art director.

Meanhwile, Dennis and Dee are having struggles trying to film Dennis’ memoirs. They have Richard Grieco who is not cooperating and it becomes this weird obsession with a particular story involving a 14 year-old Dennis being seduced by his school librarian. Dee claims that she looked just like Rick Moranis. An interesting but funny segment.

Everything comes together as Paddy’s is hosting the ‘Inside: Cricket’ art show. Dennis has given up his idea to film his memoirs. Mac still has no idea what art is. Charlie is still acting like Grieco. Frank is still subtly posing as an art collector. He has brought the art director who gives us this confusing theory about art and the idea of art, further confusing the gang.

Dee debuts her interpretation of Dennis’ memoir story. It was very strange. Dennis then goes on this long rant about art and how to define art. It ends with him explaining his version of the memoir, and how he was not taken advantage of by the librarian. The episode ends with everyone laughing at Dennis.
