On this week's episode of The Big Bang Theory, Amy is away for a neurobiology conference, so Sheldon informs the gang that he is free to be entertained. After asking everyone their plans, he chooses to join Raj, who will be in the telescope room, scanning for rogue planets.
Raj tells Sheldon to search data for patterns or anomalies. Sheldon finds one within a few seconds. Raj is shocked, thinking that it would have taken him a few hours. They find that what they discovered was a medium sized asteroid. Although disappointed that it wasn’t something better, they realize that they get to name it. Sheldon wants to be the one to choose the name, and ignores Raj, who wants to be part of the decision. Leonard suggests that they name it after their girlfriends. Sheldon just wants to name it Amy, so he negotiates by agreeing to name all of his and Amy’s children Rajesh. Naturally, Amy is not thrilled with the idea.
Meanwhile, Penny is determined to get in to see Dr. Gallo for her job, but she refuses to see sales reps. Howard suggests that Penny should make a regular appointment with her to get in. She points out that they already know she is a sales rep, so that is when Howard suggests that Leonard should go and set groundwork. Dr. Gallo is a psychiatrist, so Leonard isn’t sure what he would say is wrong with him. The gang however has no problem rattling off things such as social anxiety, sexual insecurity, and low self-esteem. Leonard claims that none of these are true, which prompts Penny to add denial to the list. Leonard reluctantly agrees to go.
Dr. Gallo ends up knowing who Leonard’s mother is, having read her books. She goes on to say that she doesn’t agree with all of her theories. This sends Leonard off on a rant about hit mom. When Leonard gets back he tells Penny that after discussing how his mother ruined his life, he mentioned her drug and Dr. Gallo agreed to meet her.
After Penny pitches her drug, Dr. Gallo asks her what she was thinking when she made her husband pretend to be a patient so she could get to her. She questions if Penny is taking advantage of a man who had such an overbearing mother. Penny ends up lying on the couch venting about how she feels like Leonard’s mother and how she has to live with Sheldon.
Also in tonight’s episode, Stuart intrudes on Howard and Bernadette post coitus to announce that he will be moving out in a couple days. He creeps them out by telling them that it is weird to be in their bedroom when they are awake. Howard and Bernadette help him load up the car and see him off, excited that he will finally be leaving after two years.
While cleaning out Stuart’s room, Howard and Bernadette start reminiscing and realize that they miss him. They wonder why they haven’t heard from him. At the end of the episode, we see him standing in their room, watching them sleep. He whispers that he misses it.
