Rapper Big Sean has launched a fundraising campaign to help support youth in Flint, Michigan, who have been affected by its clean water crisis.

The fundraiser, titled #HealFlintKids was launched through the crowdfunding website CrowdRise and has already raised more than $16,000. Big Sean donated $10,000 through his Sean Anderson Foundation. As incentive, each donation of $10 enters fans in a contest for a chance to meet the rapper on his upcoming Unannounced Tour this fall. A donation of $20 will equal three entries and $50 will equate to seven entries.

According to the fundraising website, Big Sean, who is a native of Detroit, Michigan hopes to help children who have been affected by lead poisoning in Flint.

He released a statement saying, "Flint's children were hit the hardest and some have experienced permanent and potentially devastating health defects from lead poisoning. We know the needs of Flint children exposed to lead, particularly those most vulnerable – children ages 0-6 – are ongoing and long-term. You can be assured that your gift will be used for critical interventions today and well into the future."

Big Sean previously expressed his feelings regarding the water crisis on Monday in a tweet which read, "This is not a natural disaster, this is not a mistake, this is clearly some real dirty work going on!"

Other rappers who have contributed to the cause include Meek Mill. He donated 50,000 bottles of water to Flint and 50 Cent donated $50,000 according to Music Times
