Comedian Bill Hader is headed to HBO, where he will write, direct and star in a new pilot.

According to Deadline, HBO has ordered Barry, starring Hader as an ex-Marine working as a hitman who travels to Los Angeles to kill someone, only to be welcomed into the L.A. theater scene. Hader co-wrote the pilot alongside Alec Berg, executive producer on another HBO sitcom, Silicon Valley. Berg will serve as executive producer on Barry as well.

This news comes nearly two years after Hader signed a deal with the network. Although the Saturday Night Live alum initially got into the industry hoping to become an assistant director, this pilot will actually be Hader's directorial debut.

2015 was a great year for Hader, who starred in the wildly successful movies Inside Out and Trainwreck. He also co-created last year's IFC show Documentary Now, he guest starred on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and he continued work on South Park for the series' extremely well-reviewed 19th season. Oh, and he secretly contributed to the voice of BB-8 in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
