Actor and comedian Jason Mantzoukas will join Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a recurring role.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Mantzoukas has been cast in season 3 of the Fox comedy. He'll be playing a police officer who returns after being on an undercover mission for over a decade and so naturally Jake (Andy Samberg) is enthusiastic about partnering up with him. The character will have a four-episode arc on the show beginning this spring.
Mantzoukas is known for playing Rafi on FX's The League, but he also pops up in supporting roles on dozens of excellent series like Parks and Recreation, Community, Review, Broad City, Comedy Bang Bang and Bob's Burgers. He stars in the new film Dirty Grandpa and the upcoming How to be Single with Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has nabbed several impressive guest stars this season, starting off with a small role for Bill Hader in the premiere. Nick Offerman also played Captain Holt's ex-boyfriend in the Thanksgiving special, as we previously reported.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
