The Montreal Canadiens acquired All-Star forward John Scott in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes and the Nashville Predators.
According to ESPN, the Canadiens acquired defenseman Victor Bartley from the Coyotes in addition to Scott.
Bartley was traded to the Coyotes by the Predators, who got defenseman Stefan Elliot.
The Coyotes received defenseman Jarred Tinordi and minor leaguer Stefan Fournier from the Canadiens.
Scott has played for six teams since he made his debut in 2008. He was selected as an All-Star captain for the NHL All-Star game along with Patrick Kane, Jaromir Jagr, and Alex Ovechkin. The NHL is evaluating how this trade affects the Pacific Division roster for the All-Star game.
In 11 games this season, he had one assist and was sent assigned to Springfield of the American Hockey League on Wednesday by the Coyotes, according to NHL.com. Scott has five goals, 11 points, and 542 penalty minutes in his NHL career.
Elliot has two goals and six points in 19 games this season. Tinordi has six assists in 46 career games. Bartley has one goal and 23 points in 112 career games. Fournier has five goals for St. John’s in the AHL this season.
