There were a couple of reports this morning that the beloved ‘90s Disney cartoon series Darkwing Duck was making a comeback, but we have to throw some water on that. It turns out that the terror that flaps in the night is only returning in the comics.

The sites TVOvermind and i09 reported that Darkwing Duck was flying again on Disney XD. However, i09 figured out that there was an April Fool’s Joke that claimed Darking was returning.

But before you get disappointed, Darkwing Duck is returning, just in a different medium. Bleeding Cool reported earlier this week that editor Aaron Sparrow and artist James Silvani are working on a new comic series that will launch in April. Sparrow and Silvani worked on the original 2011 Boom! Studios comic series. Andrew Dalhouse, Deron Bennett and Jesse Post will also work on the series.

It actually does seem logical that a Darkwing Duck revival would happen. After all, it is a spin-off from DuckTales, which is getting a revival in 2017.
