David Schwimmer has revealed he’s had a conversation with the late Robert Kardashian’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner, ahead of playing him in the upcoming FX crime series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, but he declined to speak with Kardashian’s famous kids.
Schwimmer has said Jenner helped him understand Kardashian much more, and that was apparently all he needed.
He recalled producers of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and sometimes Rob Kardashian’s E! show Keeping Up with the Kardashians approaching him to see if he wanted to sit down with them to help prepare, but he declined.
"I didn't feel that was necessary,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “And they wanted to do it on camera."
One of the writers of the series, Scott Alexander, talked to THR about a scene where the young kids chanted their last name while watching their dad on trial on TV.
“(Writer) Larry (Karaszewski) and I love irony, and we thought what if we just heightened this idea that by watching him on the TV that one day inadvertently creates the Kardashian empire," he explained. "(Robert) would be rolling over in his grave."
