When Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen turned down playing Michelle in Fuller House, the team apparently had a plan B.

In an interview with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM, John Stamos revealed that the Fuller House team asked Mary Kate and Ashley's sister, Elizabeth Olsen, to play Michelle.

"We actually went to…I don’t think this has been talked about. I didn’t do it, I think [executive producer] Jeff Franklin did," Stamos revealed. "I said, ‘Call the sister. Ask her.’ We talked to her agent and her agent was like, ‘Come on, she’s not going to do that.’"

While appearing on The Howard Stern Show, Stamos said that although Mary Kate and Ashley seemed very into Fuller House, but they just were afraid of getting back into acting. As Stamos put it, they don't consider themselves actresses anymore.

In Fuller House, it will be explained that Michelle Tanner is not there because she is creating a fashion empire in New York City, an obvious mirror of the Olsen twins' actual career.

Fuller House premieres on Netflix on Feb. 26.
