Harry Potter alum Emma Watson is launching a new feminist book club via social media.

The 25-year-old actor and activist announced the plans on her Twitter account, asking followers to suggest a name for the club. She has since settled on "Our Shared Self" and has chosen the first book to read: My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem.

In a statement on the club's new Goodreads page, Watson said that she has recently been reading many books and essays about equality as part of her work with UN Women and she wanted to share some of what she's been learning with fans. Watson plans to have the club read a book every month, discuss it during the last week and hopefully have the author join in on the conversation.

My Life on the Road tells the story of activist Gloria Steinem, who began work as a spokesperson for women's rights in the 1960s.

Emma Watson was appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014. During the launch of the HeforShe campaign, she delivered an inspiring speech about gender equality.

Watson said at the time, "Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum, instead of two sets of opposing ideals."
