A former pageant queen and television host has plead guilty and was sentenced Wednesday for illegally killing a bear in Alaska last May.

The Associated Press noted that Theresa Vail pleaded guilty to killing the grizzly bear without a state hunting tag and was sentenced to one year probation and ordered to pay a $750 fine. If the other defendants in the case are also convicted $1300 in restitution may be split between the parties.

As we previously reported, the 25-year-old host of the Outdoor Channel reality series Limitless with Theresa Vail, shot the female bear while filming her show and did not have the proper documentation to do so. The kill, however, did not air on the program.

At the time the channel released a statement which read, “Outdoor Channel is committed to legal and ethical hunting. We have strict policies and procedures in place that require all of our talent and producers to abide by all hunting regulations. In June, Theresa Vail and the Limitless production team alerted the authorities of the situation.”

A second charge against the former Miss Kansas was dismissed.
