Jada Pinkett Smith returning to ‘Gotham’

Fish isn’t dead after all. Jada Pinkett Smith is coming back to Gotham after missing the first half of season two.

The news was first reported by TVLine. Fox confirmed to the site that Smith will be back to play crime boss Fish Mooney in a multi-episode arc during the second half of season two. Of course, the network wouldn’t explain how Fish is coming back, so we’ll have to tune in to see.

In an interview with ComicBook.com in April, showrunner Bruno Heller said that he hoped to bring back Fish after the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) pushed her into a watery grave. Of course, no one dies in comic books and shows inspired by comic books are no different.

Gotham, which stars Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon and is set in a world before Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) becomes Batman, returns on Fox Monday, Feb. 29. B.D. Wong, Paul Rubens and Nathan Darrow are all joining the show.
