Free agent outfielder Justin Upton signed with the Detroit Tigers Monday night.

According to the Associated Press, Upton signed a six-year, $132.75 million contract with the Tigers. Upton can opt out of the deal after two years. The deal is pending a physical and he will have an average annual salary of $22.125 million.

USA Today notes that Upton becomes the third-highest paid free agent position player this offseason, behind Jason Heyward ($184 million with the Chicago Cubs) and Chris Davis ($161 million with the Baltimore Orioles).

The three-time All-Star had spent his entire nine-year career in the National League. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013. Last year, the San Diego Padres acquired Upton from the Braves. Upton hit .251 with 26 home runs and 81 RBI’s last year, according to ESPN.

Upton is the latest addition to the Tigers this offseason. They have signed pitcher Jordan Zimmermann to a five-year, $10 million deal and traded for closer Francisco Rodriguez already. The Tigers were 74-88 in 2015 and finished last in the AL Central.
