The first celebrity divorce news of 2016 involves Key & Peele star Keegan-Michael Key, who filed for divorce from his wife on New Year’s Eve.
People reported that the comedian and his wife, Cynthia Blaise, separated in November and Key filed the paperwork citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The two were married in 1998 and do not have any children together. Key has requested that the issue of spousal support, however, be delayed.
The Daily Mail noted that Blaise worked as an actress and not only appeared on Key and Peele, but also in 2010's Faster as well as the 2011 film Bad Teacher. Currently she works as a dialect coach.
Key worked with partner Jordan Peele on their Comedy Central show from 2012 to 2015. He wrote and starred in the Emmy-nominated program which featured the pair in various sketches making fun of things in everyday life with some unusual outcomes. He also had parts in the sitcoms Parks & Rec and How I Met Your Mother.
