After Lost fans noticed the version of the final episode that appears on Netflix is not the same version that was broadcast on television, the show's creator is asking the streaming service to fix the issue.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Damon Lindelof said he is "totally befuddled" by the fact that the episode "The End" is missing 18 minutes of footage on Netflix.

He was unhappy to find out about the situation, although he speculated that it might not be Netflix's fault. At some point, ABC made a trimmed down cut of the finale to air in syndication, so Lindelof thinks that maybe this was mistakenly sent to Netflix instead of the unaltered episode.

"But as the show lives on in DVD form and on Netflix, there is ZERO reason to have the shorter version out there," Lindelof wrote to Entertainment Weekly. He signed off his message with #WhatHappenedHappened and #RestoreTheLostFinale.

The missing scenes were outlined in a Reddit thread, and the list includes some key moments like Jack and Locke talking about the hatch and Hurley and Ben talking about their time on the island.

Both Netflix and ABC say they are looking into this matter.
