The lack of diversity amongst Oscar nominees is a big topic this year, with Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee among those who are boycotting the event altogether. The last black actress to win an Oscar, Lupita Nyong’o, is now weighing in.

Nyong’o won her Academy Award in 2014 for her role in 12 Years a Slave, becoming the sixth black woman in Oscars history to win for Best Supporting Actress.

She wrote on Instagram that she "[stands] with my peers who are calling for change in expanding the stories that are told and recognition of the people who tell them."

Nyong’o also wrote that she’s “disappointed by the lack of inclusion” among this year’s nominees.
