Great news, boys and ghouls! The Crypt Keeper and his collection of chilling tales are returning to television, as Tales from the Crypt is receiving a reboot on TNT.

TNT will be bringing back the long running horror anthology series as part of a new two-hour horror block, notes Entertainment Weekly. This will include both long and short form content, but the main attraction is a Tales from the Crypt show, executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan.

“To be part of such a beloved brand like Tales From the Crypt, something I grew up watching, and to also have the chance to push the boundaries of genre television as a whole, is an inspiring opportunity that I can’t wait to dive into,” Shyamalan said.

Also producing is James D. Stern, known for films such as The Brothers Bloom and Looper.

Although Shyamalan's career had been in a downward spiral for years with critical disasters like The Happening and The Last Airbender, 2015 was something of a comeback for him. His horror movie The Visit received favorable reviews and did extremely well at the box office. His Fox series Wayward Pines drew big enough numbers for Fox to renew if for a second season.

Tales from the Crypt originally ran on HBO from 1989 to 1996. Like a much more over-the-top version of The Twilight Zone, each episode tells a different story bookended by segments with our host, a spooky skeleton referred to as the Crypt Keeper. Now is a perfect time to bring the series back, as horror anthology has been quite popular lately with the shows American Horror Story and Scream Queens.

The Tales from the Crypt reboot will launch this fall, presumably in time for Halloween.
