The half brother of one of the subjects of Making a Murderer, Brendan Dassey, has released a Christian rap anthem for his brother and uncle, Steven Avery, called “They Didn’t Do It.”
Brad Dassey describes the song as a “victory” anthem for his relatives, who are both serving life sentences in the death of Teresa Halbach.
He told the Daily Beast, “As far as whoever hears it, it’s geared toward the supporters, but the haters are obviously going to land on it too. There’s no way of stopping them.”
Dassey continued, “I just want people who support our family to listen to it,” adding, “It’s more of a victory song to the better days ahead, because I just had a dream the other day that [Brendan and Steven] were out, and there was going to be a massive party and people all over the globe were going to come down and celebrate.”
He said he was so passionate about making the “anthem” for his brother and Avery that he wrote and recorded it in 10 hours.
Meanwhile, Avery just filed a new appeal in the state of Wisconsin.
