Just a few days after dropping hints last week, NBC has officially put Chicago Law into development. It will be the network’s fourth Chicago series.

NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke and executive producer Dick Wolf teased the idea of Chicago Law at the Television Critics Association Press Tour last week.

Now, NBC has sent statements to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter to confirm that Chicago Law is officially in development. Salke listed that title as a working title though, so there’s still a chance to change it to Law & Order: Chicago.

The other three Chicago shows are Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and the freshman Chicago Med. Hopefully Law will be more successful than Wolf’s fourth Law & Order show, Trial By Jury, which only lasted a season in 2005.

The only remaining Law & Order is Special Victims Unit, which is now in Season 17. In addition to the original L&O and SVU, NBC aired Criminal Intent and the short-lived Law & Order: Los Angeles.

Oh, and NBC is also developing the unscripted reality show You The Jury with Wolf.
